We started calling dressing gowns “dingle downs” when our eldest was two or three, however he is now ten years old and we still call them that, even times when there aren’t any children around!
Think about how many other words we abbreviate, alter, extend. How quickly they become habit and we all know what we mean, even when it gets us strange looks on the numerous occasions that they slip out in public. I am sitting here now trying to think of all our other ‘pet words’. Will we grow out of this habit or will my husband and I still refer to them as dingle downs when are older, will it fast track us into the care home?
I am off now to go and put on a fresh pot of cottee, while wearing my jimmie jamies and dingle down!!

New Shoes....Now What?
I just bought these completely gorgeous, highly impractical, leg lengthening, super sexy Gladiator high heels from Bakers. What do I wear with them?? Help. So far I tried them with jeans which looked great, but not ideal for hot summer days. With the ankle strap being where it is I don't want to cut my legs and make them look shorter. What length dress/skirt? Will they go with city shorts? Are city shorts over? Arghh!!

Resourceful Babies
This morning the three year old made his own bed (quite well actually!) and the ten month old has spoon fed himself a few mouthfuls of baby cereal and mashed banana.
Are they displaying ahead of their age maturity and skills? Are they destined for greater things, a whirlwind of Ivy League Colleges and outstanding scholarly achievements? Or have they just come to the conclusion that with six people in this household, its better just to get on and do these things for yourself?
Even if that means being able to whip up a bowl of your own infant breakfast cereal and potentially leaving the house with your pj top under your t-shirt and your jeans on backwards (which is Child Number Three left the house last week)????
My only question is this? How do I get the eight year old to make her own bed too?

In Love....
Its May and I am in love....with my bronzer! On a whim I popped into the nearest pharmacy and picked up a Physicans Formula Bronzer. I haven't used a bronzer since I was 15, and the results were far from spectacular. The effect was more grubby, rather than glowy.
This one, however is magic. A quick sweep of the brush and I look tanned and healthy. I even use it on my legs and feet, for those occasions when I appear to have applied the fake tan in a rather haphazard way the night before!
